I must confess that I am a bad Bible reader. Really lousy. I rarely read it, and rarely have read it. This is inexplicable and indefensible from a Christian point of view. But that’s where I am. As Slate editor David Plotz points out, Evangelical Christians are pretty much the only ones who are generally devoted to deep, serious and sustained Bible reading.
