In the Shreveport Times:
Sunday seems to be the only day of the week that we are still segregated. It may be by choice; however, what a shame. We are all worshipping the same Lord and savior, Jesus Christ.
I am proud to be a member of a church (Church of the Holy Cross, Episcopal) that is inclusive of all members of society. If one is white, a person of color or any sexual orientation, all are welcomed as Christ would have wanted it.
As Christians we must remember our savior was a Jew.
In these uncertain and difficult times for all mankind, our only hope is to bond together as children of God. He, She, It will sustain us through our darkest hours. What a joy!
Let us find inspiration and faith that we will break this final bond that divides us. What a wonderful thing to learn of new cultures and traditions. It is my best prayer to see this happen within my lifetime.
God be with all.
