The Rt. Rev. V. Gene Robinson, the Episcopal Church’s first openly gay bishop, will speak Monday at Duke University.
The events include an address on preparing leaders for ministry and a conversation with the Rev. Sam Wells, dean of Duke Chapel, and Janie Long, director of Duke’s Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender Center.
Robinson has been at the center of worldwide debate about inclusion of gays and lesbians in the Anglican Communion. At 12:20 p.m. Monday at Duke Chapel, he will address the topic of preparing leaders for faithful ministry.
He, Wells and Long will lead a conversation at 7 p.m. later that day at the chapel. Doors open at 6 p.m.
