Hi,

I ran across something that seems very applicable to the news of the RC move to open it's doors to the Anglicans. It is this paper on Amazon (not available at this time):

The pastoral and political implications of Trent on justification: A response to the ARCIC agreed statement Salvation and the church (Unknown Binding) by ~ C. FitzSimons Allison (Author)

I hope all of those who have influence in the church will get copies of it. It would be great to see if someone could print it online somewhere... it might help people find stability amidst all of the uncertainty of these difficult days.

It will be interesting to observe the practicalities of the latest move to accept Anglo Catholicsim within the Church of Rome over the next 20-30 years. There is a lot that the bigger church of Rome olive tree can learn from its little Anglican offshoot which I can vouch for as an northern irish RC cguy who entered into marriage with an english C of E girl some 25 years ago. It may well save the RC Church from self-destruction and/or societal irrelevance more than it does the Anglican Church. I suspect the old and canny Pope Benedict is only too aware of this. God - is he a class act or what?(B 16 I mean).

Sounds pretty diplomatic "organization-speak." I bet the Anglican Church has quite a different private view. I just posted on this issue.

I just found your blog today - great stuff.
Regarding the Vatican's announcement - though it is historic in its own right, this Episcopalian remains unmoved.
